Malente is located in the state of Schleswig-Holstein in northern Germany. The town lies in the middle of the Holstein Switzerland region, which is characterized by gently rolling hills, numerous lakes, and forests. The region is particularly well-known for its natural beauty, clean air, and peaceful surroundings, making it a popular destination for outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and water sports. The town of Malente itself is situated on the shores of Lake Dieksee, which is the largest of the numerous lakes in the region.
