Check out this spot in Locarno. Great location for swimming and paddling, kayaking, canoeing and wind surfing. Locarno is a city in the southern part of Switzerland, located in the Locarno District in the Canton of Ticino. It lies on the northern shore of Lake Maggiore, surrounded by the Alps. The area around Locarno is known for its picturesque scenery, with the combination of the lake, the mountains, and the Mediterranean climate giving it a unique character. The city itself features a charming old town with narrow streets and historic buildings, including the famous Sanctuary of Madonna del Sasso. The hills and mountains offer numerous hiking and biking trails, as well as scenic drives. Locarno is also famous for its many gardens and parks, including the stunning botanical garden known as the Parco delle Camelie. The area is known for its mild climate, which allows for the cultivation of wine grapes, citrus fruits, and olives.
