About

Usually no deeper than 1.5 metres unless at high tide. Gradually sloping pebble to sand beach. Kid friendly within the two markers. The beach and sea are tidal and to swim out in deep water you need to wear a tow float and be confident in the water. The tides are very strong here.

Getting there

To get here either A127 to Southend on sea and follow signs to seafront. Take the turning right to chalkwell esplanade. To get here via A13 head to Southend at chalkwell park turn right and follow the road to the seafront turning right into chalkwell esplanade. Parking meters are on this stretch of road.

Accessibility

If you are able bodied easy to get in. If you are disabled there is a ramp but you would need help assistance getting to the sea.
