About

Quiet & sheltered spot on the Avon for a dip/swimble. Current is lively so hard to swim upstream but sheltered by the pontoon for a little potter about. Access is from a lovely pontoon but directly into quite deep water & to get out again you need to be able-bodied enough to use the handrail to pull yourself onto the pontoon. Be aware of boats using the river but very quiet spot.

Location

Getting there

Follow the road past the houses to where it narrows. Carry on downhill to the parking area. Walk with the road behind you along the path and it opens into a grassed area with the pontoon on the left.

Accessibility

Railed steps down onto the pontoon but take care - one step was washed away. Easiest entry was on the left of the pontoon - a long step into the water. Get out in the same place, using the rail to pull yourself up & out.
