About

Dipping spot on the little Colin River, developed & cared for by the Dunmurry Dippers. Water level varies depending on rainfall but is generally deep enough for a few swim strokes close to the weir. Standing with your shoulders under the weir gives a nice back massage! Water generally cold, even in summer (low teens maximum). Local group have provided benches & hooks for gear. Steep climb down into water via slippy steps cut into bank. Swim shoes advisable. Local group swim there frequently.

Getting there

Dunmurry station is just along the path from the spot. Otherwise park on the road ‘The Green’ and walk down the path off Burnside Close over the bridge & turn left along the path between the river & the railway tracks.

Accessibility

Flat, hard-surface paths to swim location. Steep & slippy steps down the bank to access the water. Water level & force will vary widely depending on recent rainfall. Benches to sit on to change.
