About

This is a pool at t a bend in the River Lochay as it passes through Killin Golf Club. We were there midweek, mid July and it was quiet. Parking in the golf club car park gives you a short walk down to the river. Access is easy. The entry is shallow but drops away into the river proper pretty quickly where the current is stronger. Down river is a small natural weir it is possible to drift to before turning back. Lovely spot for a dook, will deffo return.

Before you go

  • Check recent rainfall. Rivers rise fast after heavy rain.
  • Never swim in fast-flowing or flooded water
  • Test entry/exit before you commit. River banks can be undercut.
  • Cold water shock is real. Enter slowly and control your breathing.
  • Watch for submerged obstacles like branches, weirs, and rocks

Conditions change fast. Always check the latest data, read recent community reports, and swim within your ability.
