Experience this spot in Staßfurt. Great spot for swimming and paddling, boating, supping and wind surfing. Staßfurt is a town located in the district of Salzlandkreis in the German state of Sachsen-Anhalt. The town is situated on the eastern side of the river Bode, near the foothills of the Harz Mountains. The area around Staßfurt is characterized by extensive agricultural fields and forests. The landscape is predominantly flat, with rolling hills and small valleys. The town is surrounded by several lakes, including the Großer Warmer Bodden and the Staßfurter See. One of the most striking features of the landscape around Staßfurt is the numerous salt pans and mines. Salt has been mined in the region for centuries, and the industry has left a significant mark on the local landscape. As a result, much of the area is characterized by large pits, heaps of spoil, and industrial buildings. The town itself has many historic buildings, including the St. Johanneskirche, a Gothic-style church dating back to the 14th century. The town also has several parks and green spaces, including the Staßfurter Stadtpark and the Kurpark.

How cold is the water?
Check the Temperature tab for the current estimate and 7-day trend. Lakes hold heat longer than rivers but can develop a thermocline. The water below the surface can be dramatically colder.
What should I bring?
A tow float for visibility (especially important where boats operate), warm layers for after, and consider a wetsuit in colder months. Check for designated swimming areas.
