The scenery around Peníscola is stunning, boasting beautiful beaches, crystal clear waters, and mountainous terrain. The city is surrounded by the sea on one side and the Sierra de Irta mountains on the other, providing beautiful views from just about every angle. The town is dominated by a stunning medieval castle, the Castle of Papa Luna, which sits on a rocky outcropping overlooking the sea. The narrow streets of the old town are full of traditional whitewashed houses and shops selling local crafts and souvenirs. The beaches and coves around Peníscola are known for their clear waters and beautiful sand, and there are plenty of restaurants and bars serving delicious local cuisine. Overall, the area around Peníscola is a stunning example of the beauty of the Mediterranean coast of Spain.
