Check out this spot in Gedser. Popular location for swimming and paddling, kayaking, canoeing, supping, wind surfing and kiteboarding. Gedser is a small town located at the southernmost point of Denmark's island of Falster. The area is characterized by flat, sandy beaches, dunes, and a mix of farmland and woodland. To the east, the Baltic Sea is visible, and on clear days, it is possible to see Germany's coasts. The town itself is relatively quiet and serves as a popular spot for camping and outdoor activities. The area is also known for the Gedser Odde Nature Centre, which offers educational exhibits on the local flora and fauna, as well as guided tours and outdoor activities.

Plan your swim
Before you go
- Check tide times before entering. Incoming tides can cut off escape routes.
- Watch for rip currents, especially near groynes and headlands
- Cold water shock is real. Enter slowly and control your breathing.
- Always swim with others or tell someone your plan
- A tow float makes you visible to boats and other water users

Check the Tides tab for today's high and low times. Many coastal spots are best around high tide when there's enough water depth, or during slack water when currents are weakest.
What should I bring?
A tow float for visibility, warm layers for after, and footwear for rocky entries. In colder months, consider a wetsuit, gloves, and a swim cap.
