About

This is a lovely sandy beach perfect for all-year swims. It’s also a good starting point if would rather walk up the coast to a quieter swimming spot. Cafe and public toilets are open in the warmer months.

Location

Getting there

If travelling by car make sure you have money for parking. The car park is located besides the beach. If travelling by bike be prepared to lug them through the dunes a bit and there are no obvious places to lock them up.

Accessibility

You’ll be navigating a few sandy dunes to access the beach. No problem for sure footed folk, but extra care needed if you have trouble on uneven surfaces.

Plan your swim

Before you go

  • Check tide times before entering. Incoming tides can cut off escape routes.
  • Watch for rip currents, especially near groynes and headlands
  • Cold water shock is real. Enter slowly and control your breathing.
  • Always swim with others or tell someone your plan
  • A tow float makes you visible to boats and other water users

Conditions change fast. Always check the latest data, read recent community reports, and swim within your ability.
