About
Smaller than the main Durness Beach just to the south of the viewpoint, this Beach is about 200 yards. Beautiful gently sloping sandy beach with crystal clear water. Some huge, obvious rocks on the beach but none under the water that we could see.
Location
Getting there
Adjacent to the Sango Sands Oasis caravan an park and a 400 metre / 7 minute walk from a public car park and a public footpath along the top of the cliffs. The descent to the beach is very steep and rocky, there are no steps or handrails so only accessible if you're fit and mobile.

Plan your swim
Before you go
- Check tide times before entering. Incoming tides can cut off escape routes.
- Watch for rip currents, especially near groynes and headlands
- Cold water shock is real. Enter slowly and control your breathing.
- Always swim with others or tell someone your plan
- A tow float makes you visible to boats and other water users

Check the Tides tab for today's high and low times. Many coastal spots are best around high tide when there's enough water depth, or during slack water when currents are weakest.

A tow float for visibility, warm layers for after, and footwear for rocky entries. In colder months, consider a wetsuit, gloves, and a swim cap.
