About
Roughly 15m long concrete slipway to enter the river. There is a small step down underwater at the end of the slipway into the river. Here you can swim upstream towards Godmanchester or downstream towards Hartford. There are often boats or rowers (in the evenings) using this section so stay to the side of the river and ensure you're visible. There is a pontoon to launch SUPs and it is a dog and family friendly area, just be aware there are lots of swans, ducks and geese about.
Location
Getting there
If driving then park in the Riverside car park, if you drive to the opposite side of the car park to where you enter it then that is the closest place to park and there is disabled parking. If walking and using google maps then searching for 'Huntingdon Rowing Club' will take you to by the slipway.
Accessibility
Pretty accessible, blue badge parking is approx 10m away from the waters edge, the terrain is flat and tarmac until you get to the slipway. The slipway is concrete and can sometimes be slippy, you can use the wall to steady yourself though. There are sometimes rocks on the ramp and at the end of it there is a step down into the river onto soft/muddy ground but you are deep enough to swim by that point if easier. There is a life ring on a nearby bank.
