Experience this spot in Hyères. Great location for swimming and paddling, scuba diving, surfing, supping, wind surfing, body surfing, body boarding and kiteboarding. Hyères is a historic town located in the Var department of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur in France. The town is situated on the Mediterranean coast with an impressive coastline, white sandy beaches, and azure blue waters. The natural landscape around Hyères is full of contrasts, from rolling hills and jagged cliffs to sandy beaches and shallow reefs. The Saint-Tropez peninsula is part of the same coastline and is known for its luxurious resorts and stunning beaches. Hyères' greatest attraction is the Iles d'Hyères, a small archipelago consisting of three islands that are protected natural reserves, rich in flora and fauna. The town itself boasts a historic castle and a charming, medieval old town with narrow streets and plenty of authentic French bakeries, restaurants, and cafes. The surrounding countryside is covered in vineyards and olive groves, producing some of the finest wines and olive oil in the world.

When is the best time to swim here?

Check the Tides tab for today's high and low times. Many coastal spots are best around high tide when there's enough water depth, or during slack water when currents are weakest.

A tow float for visibility, warm layers for after, and footwear for rocky entries. In colder months, consider a wetsuit, gloves, and a swim cap.
