About

Experience this spot in Leucate. Popular location for kayaking, canoeing, sailing, supping and wind surfing. Leucate is a town located in the Aude department of Occitanie, in the south of France. It is situated on a narrow strip of land between the Mediterranean Sea and the Étang de Leucate, a large lagoon. The scenery around Leucate is characterised by sandy beaches, small hills covered in vineyards, and scrubland. The town itself is mainly made up of small buildings and colourful houses, with narrow streets and squares. The harbour area is filled with small fishing boats and yachts. The local cuisine is focused on seafood, with fresh oysters and mussels being a speciality. Just outside Leucate, there are several hiking trails leading to the top of the Mont Saint-Clair, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the coast and surrounding hills. The nearby Réserve naturelle nationale de la Petite Camargue provides a habitat for many endangered bird species. The region is also known for its windsurfing and kitesurfing spots, attracting water sports enthusiasts from all over the world.

  • Cold water shock is real. Enter slowly and control your breathing.
  • Always swim with others or tell someone your plan
  • A tow float makes you visible to boats and other water users
