About

Explore this spot near Lefkada. Great location for water skiing, wake boarding, scuba diving, kayaking, canoeing and sailing. Lefkada is an island located in the Ionian Sea, part of the Ionian Islands, which are administered under the Decentralized Administration of Peloponnese, Western Greece and the Ionian. The island is known for its beautiful beaches and crystal-clear waters, with some of the most famous ones being Porto Katsiki, Egremni, and Kathisma. The landscape is mountainous, with lush forests of pine and cypress trees, and there are several traditional villages scattered throughout the island. The town of Lefkada, located on the northern side of the island, is the main hub for tourism and features a charming harbor, narrow streets, and plenty of restaurants, cafes, and shops. Offshore, there are several small islands, including Skorpios, which was famously owned by Aristotle Onassis. The area around Lefkada is considered one of the most beautiful in Greece, with stunning views at every turn.

Plan your swim

Before you go

  • Check tide times before entering. Incoming tides can cut off escape routes.
  • Watch for rip currents, especially near groynes and headlands
  • Cold water shock is real. Enter slowly and control your breathing.
  • Always swim with others or tell someone your plan
  • A tow float makes you visible to boats and other water users

Conditions change fast. Always check the latest data, read recent community reports, and swim within your ability.

When is the best time to swim here?

Check the Tides tab for today's high and low times. Many coastal spots are best around high tide when there's enough water depth, or during slack water when currents are weakest.

What should I bring?

A tow float for visibility, warm layers for after, and footwear for rocky entries. In colder months, consider a wetsuit, gloves, and a swim cap.
