The landscape is dotted with small villages and farmsteads, and there are numerous forests and natural areas for hiking and exploring. The city of Lübeck is situated on the banks of the River Trave, which flows into the Baltic Sea. The old town of Lübeck is a particularly scenic area, with narrow cobbled streets and beautiful, historic buildings in ornate Gothic and Renaissance styles. The city is also located close to the coast, and there are several popular beaches within easy driving distance, including the Baltic Sea resorts of Travemünde and Timmendorfer Strand. Overall, the area around Lübeck is a beautiful and varied part of northern Germany, with plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities and sightseeing.
