Experience this spot in Lacanau. Popular location for surfing, supping, wind surfing, body surfing, body boarding and kiteboarding. Lacanau is a coastal town located on the Atlantic Ocean in the Gironde department of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. The area is characterized by miles of sandy beaches, dunes, and pine forests. The ocean stretches as far as the eye can see, with waves that attract surfers from around the world. The Lacanau beach is the largest and the most popular of all, with a stretch of over 14 km of fine sand. Inland, the forests offer numerous opportunities for biking, hiking, and horse riding. There are several lakes in the area as well, including Lake Lacanau and Lake Hourtin. The scenery around Lacanau is breathtaking, and the area is known for its stunning sunsets, which provide an incredible contrast against the ocean and dunes. The town of Lacanau itself is small but lively, with plenty of restaurants, cafes, and bars. The area is popular among tourists during the summer months, but also attracts visitors year-round due to its natural beauty and recreational activities.
