About

Experience this spot in Berlin. Popular location for swimming and paddling, kayaking, canoeing, sailing and wind surfing. Berlin is the capital city of Germany and is located in the northeastern part of the country. It is situated in a flat and low-lying plain with several water bodies, including the Spree and Havel rivers, and many lakes. The city is characterized by a mix of the old (historic buildings and monuments) with modern architecture (skyscrapers and sports complexes). The cityscape of Berlin is diverse, with a range of architectural styles from different historical periods. There are many beautiful city parks and gardens, including the Tiergarten, the largest park in the city, and the Botanical Garden, which covers an area of around 43 hectares. The surrounding region of Berlin is known as Brandenburg, and it is characterized by wide-open spaces, patches of forests, and flat landscapes sprinkled with lakes, rivers, and meandering canals. The land is used for agriculture, with fields of wheat and barley, and there are many charming small towns and villages to discover around the city. The Potsdam Palace and Park are also located close to Berlin and are a UNESCO World Heritage site. The park and gardens around the palace make it a beautiful and peaceful place to visit with stunning landscaping, water features, and sculptures.
