About

A small spot for a refreshing swim in the Kennet River. More of a fun whirlpool than long swim.

Location

Getting there

On the Marlborough Axford Road by the house with blue shutters. Or you can park on Kings drive and walk up the public footpath from the other direction.

Accessibility

Hard to park, small public footpath down to weir. The land owners have asked that people enter the water by climbing over the wall rather than walking around it (erosion is undermining the foundations of the wall due to so many people walking around). The photos explain this in more detail.

Plan your swim

Before you go

  • Check recent rainfall. Rivers rise fast after heavy rain.
  • Never swim in fast-flowing or flooded water
  • Test entry/exit before you commit. River banks can be undercut.
  • Cold water shock is real. Enter slowly and control your breathing.
  • Watch for submerged obstacles like branches, weirs, and rocks

Conditions change fast. Always check the latest data, read recent community reports, and swim within your ability.
