50 min-ish swoosh down the River Trent. Flow good on entry, then varies according to depth. Some shallow spots & underwater hazards (rocks) depending on depth. Exit before Swarkestone bridge on right directly after the last tree. Easy exit but steep. Exit also possible right under bridge but dangerous flow after bridge. Check river depth here: https://check-for-flooding.service.gov.uk/station/2152
Location
Getting there
Drive or bus to Swarkestone, Crewe & Harpur pub stop. Park at pub or space for 2 cars pulled in near bridge at exit point. Walk up road (carefully) to entry point or use 2 cars & drive to entry point where there’s a lay-by for several cars.
Accessibility
Difficult entry - slippy bank down to river level & lots of nettles in summer.
