The west coast has numerous beaches with clear blue waters, while the east coast has rugged rocky cliffs. The south of Lesvos has fertile plains with olive groves and fields of various crops. The island also has many natural hot springs, and the most famous one is the Thermes of Eftalou. Lesvos has a unique ecosystem, and its rich flora and fauna make it a popular destination for nature lovers. There are several protected areas on the island, including the Petrified Forest of Lesbos, which is a UNESCO Global Geopark.
