About
Beautiful river swim. Boats regularly on the move so tow floats/bright hats recommended for visibility purposes. Recommended to swim to the right (upstream) so you are current assisted on the way back. Current can be quite variable. People also kayak/SUP from here.
Location
Getting there
Approximately 5 miles from Ely, Cambridgeshire. Park on the road opposite the Drainage Museum (please park considerately as large tractors and trailers need to be able to pass) or in one of the laybys on either side of the bridge on the opposite side of the main road.
Accessibility
Sit on the edge of river bank and 'plop' into waist water height. Depth very quickly increases to deep water. There's an underwater rock close to the water level gauge that can be helpful to help exiting the water.
