The area around Kolimvari is characterized by picturesque hills, olive groves, and vineyards. The town itself is surrounded by lush green mountains that provide a stunning backdrop for the azure blue sea. The beaches in the area are sandy and clean, and are perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and water sports. The town center of Kolimvari is charming and traditional, with narrow streets, white-washed houses, and local shops and tavernas. The main attraction in the town is the beautiful Byzantine-style Patriarchal Monastery of Gonia, which is one of the oldest monasteries on the island and dates back to the 16th century.
